Giorgos Kokis

Μichalis started music at a very young age playing the piano. He was very much influenced by Michael Jackson and his album "Thriller" and by rock bands such as Rainbow, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Queen, etc. His first degree was in Forestry but later on, he quit his job as a forester and studied a BA (Hons) Course in Music at APU Cambridge, UK. He specialized in Composition and Singing. He started with classical music first but soon changed his focus to popular music. While studying there he won the City of Cambridge singing competition.  He then continued for an MA in Film Composition at Bristol University, specializing in studio techniques. Τowards the end of his studies and later on while in the UK, he formed his own rock band where he was the lead singer and played the keyboards.

 

Coming back to Cyprus he opened his own school (New Music) teaching pop and rock music. Later on, he upgraded his school to a professional Music Studio offering recording and mixing services too. Parallel to that he composed and orchestrated the music for several productions for Film, TV, and Theatre. He won the Gold Special Jury Award at the Houston Film Festival in the USA for his music for the short film "Malgaat".

 

For several years he taught Music Technology at the University of Nicosia for the BA music course.

 

As a studio engineer and composer, he contributed to the release of various albums for Single artists or bands.

 

For the last few years, he has been composing and producing Electronic Dance Music styles such as EDM and House. You can find his music on Online Music stores under his artist name MichaelDiTempo.

 

Michalis taught hundreds of students from all over the world. Many of them are now successful professionals in the music industry, either as performers, audio engineers, music producers, or music educators. His students took part in Eurovision and Junior Eurovision contests representing Cyprus. 

Armen Kababyan studied music performance at the University of Nicosia under the supervision of Mr. Antonis Koizas. He is a capable guitar player playing many different pop and rock styles parallel to classical music.

Armen has participated in many concerts and played in different cities of the island. Besides the BMus degree at the University of Nicosia, Armen is a holder of Trinity Guildhall London diploma in electric guitar as well.

He also taught at music schools from the age of just 18 and gained big experience in both, teaching and performing. He was also part of various rock bands doing a number of gigs.

 

Armen is a capable Bass player too with teaching experience in this instruments as well.

Currently he is involved mainly with teaching practical and theoretical lessons, as well as recording and editing both, audio and videos in his home studio.

Armen is very patient, kind, responsible, well-mannered and punctual. Takes his responsibilities with all strictness and achieves very good results in even very short terms of studies

Giorgos Kokis started drums from an early age. He has been a member of several bands playing different styles varying from English Rock to Greek Entexno as well as some more groovy types of music which enabled him to gain experiences in live performances and help him improve as a player playing aside other good musicians.

 

He is currently in his final year for a BA in Music Education with Drums as his first instrument. He can also play a number of percussion instruments.

 

He is a very patient and  creative teacher that always tries to make the lesson as enjoyable as possible for the student and to find interesting ways to make it even more constructive.

Prodromitsa Themistokleous

Drums Instructor

Prodromitsa Themistokleous is a professional drummer and music educator with experience in live performance and drum instruction.

She holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education (Summa Cum Laude) from the University of Nicosia, with Drums as her principal instrument.

Throughout her musical career, she has performed in a variety of styles, including Pop, Rock, Funk, R&B and Greek music, and has participated in numerous live performances alongside professional musicians.

 

She has also attended masterclasses and seminars with internationally recognised drummers including Aaron Spears, Chris Coleman, Derek Roddy and George Kollias.

As a teacher, Prodromitsa focuses on each student's individual goals and musical interests, combining solid technique, musical development and practical playing in an encouraging and enjoyable learning environment.

Marios Styianou

Piano (Classical, Pop, Rock) & DJ Instructor

Marios Stylianou started playing the piano from a young age. Soon after he has been drawn by theory and harmony and eventually by composition, arranging and conducting.

He has studied in the UK and in Russia and upon returning to Cyprus, he has been playing the piano with bands, instrumentalists and singers.

 

He has also been teaching the piano, both classical and pop/jazz, as well as theory and harmony, both classical and jazz.

 

Lately he has also been performing as a DJ for weddings/events/parties and on top of that does sound engineering for small events.
